Stuffed Shells

Stuffed Shells

Ingredients

  • 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
  • 32 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 28 oz jar pasta sauce or make your own
  • 1 lb sausage, ground beef or ground pork.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees if you are making this right away. Skip if you are making this a freezer meal.
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions.
  • Brown meat and set to the side to cool.
  • Mix ricotta cheese, 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese, 1/2 of the Parmesan cheese, egg, italian seasoning, and salt (I also added a touch of milk). Add in meat.
  • Drain shells. Stuff shells with ricotta mixture and place in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour pasta sauce mixture over the shells.
  • Top with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
  • Cover and bake for 20-30 min then remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10.
  • *If you are making this a freezer meal, follow all of the above instructions except the baking. Store in the freezer and take it out when you are ready to bake!
