Bake right away or make it a freezer meal, with or without meat – there are just endless options for this favorite meal!
Stuffed Shells
Ingredients
- 12 oz jumbo pasta shells
- 32 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 lb shredded mozzarella cheese
- 8 oz Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 28 oz jar pasta sauce or make your own
- 1 lb sausage, ground beef or ground pork.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees if you are making this right away. Skip if you are making this a freezer meal.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions.
- Brown meat and set to the side to cool.
- Mix ricotta cheese, 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese, 1/2 of the Parmesan cheese, egg, italian seasoning, and salt (I also added a touch of milk). Add in meat.
- Drain shells. Stuff shells with ricotta mixture and place in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour pasta sauce mixture over the shells.
- Top with the rest of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Cover and bake for 20-30 min then remove foil and bake for an additional 5-10.
- *If you are making this a freezer meal, follow all of the above instructions except the baking. Store in the freezer and take it out when you are ready to bake!
